Eric and I decided to venture further west and check out Canyonlands and Arches National Park. Those of you who grew up with me know that I LOVE rocks! Yes, rocks.
Side story: any money I got when I was younger was spent on pretty rocks purchased from the Nature Company and added to my shadow box collection. Some people may not know this, but my dad got his arm muscles from carrying large, heavy rocks that I found on our hikes. Rocks I just had to have and that adorn my moms landscaping beds. I would say that mom made out on that one.
Back to the current story, Eric and I hiked for hours a day checking out as much as we could. Below are some photos from the hikes.
We camped at GoldBar campground by the Colorado River.
We watched the Sunrise at Dead Horse Point, Fished, bird watched, cow tipped (just kidding), flower sniffed and, Eric's favorite, off-roading.
On the drive home we stopped in Palisade, CO to check out all the fruit tree groves and PeachTree Distillery.
It was a great trip and we didn't even get to see half of it! We can't wait to go back and explore some more.
